Competition Spectator Etiquette & Support Tips

Show Up. Stand Proud. Be Loud.
Our athletes have put in nearly 50 hours of practice for a 2½-minute routine. They deserve a full, spirited
section of fans. Let’s match other districts’ energy—invite grandparents, cousins, friends. Every voice, clap,
and sign matters.

Before the Event
Be Early = Be Prepared

  • Teams cannot check in until every athlete is present—your timeliness helps the whole team

  • Athletes should arrive competition-ready

Communication

  • Turn on Demosphere notifications.

  • Coaches/team parents send critical updates (drop-off, seating, pick-up).

  • Check promptly to keep the day organized.

Spirit & Sportsmanship
Stand Together

  • Wear Panther colors (navy, silver, white) or team gear.

  • Bring cowbells, posters, and signs (no air horns/whistles).

  • A strong, unified section can even win Best Fans awards.

Stay for the Whole Division

  • Support other teams—sportsmanship reflects back on us.

  • Know your parent cheer cues

  • Applaud every team—we want the Pittsford name associated with pride and respect.

Bottom Line
Show up early. Stay the whole time. Stand together. Be the loudest, proudest fans in the building.

When it’s our athletes’ turn, get on your feet, move to the mat if possible, and make them feel like the stars they are!

Building  A Legacy Of Cheer

Pittsford Youth Cheer is proud to be the foundation for many athletes who go on to join the Pittsford Panthers Cheer program for grades 7–12 (modified, junior varsity and varsity). Our connection doesn't end when our cheerleaders graduate from youth—many return as junior coaches, mentors, and role models for the next generation. We are committed to supporting our older cheer "sisters" as they continue to grow in skill, spirit, and leadership. Together, we are one cheer family—stronger across every level.
